Construction group CIMIC has won a $450 million contract from Transurban Queensland to design and build the Logan Enhancement Project in Brisbane.

CIMIC said that the contract will generate about $420 million in revenue for CPB Contractors, which is part of the CIMIC Group.

Transurban Queensland’s $512 million Logan Enhancement Project includes upgrading parts of the Logan and Gateway Extension motorways and is aimed easing congestion and reducing travel times.

Construction work is expected to start in mid-2017 and take about two years to complete.

CPB Contractors managing director Roman Garrido said the group would be working closely with Transurban Queensland on design and construction methods .

The project is expected to generate 1,300 jobs during construction.
