Diversified Communications has made the difficult business decision not to run designEX 2015.

Diversified Communications has made the difficult business decision not to run designEX 2015. It has unfortunately become clear that, despite significant effort and investment, the event model is not sustainable in its current format and requires a complete reinvention in order to both meet the needs of the market and operate successfully.

The thought process has begun on how to deliver the “designEX” for the future.  Soren Norgaard, Event Manager says, “I’d like to thank you all for your support of designEX and your understanding of this very difficult business decision”.

The local design and architecture community will be engaged to discuss possible new exciting formats and concepts for the future of the event.

“We are proud of the role that designEX has played in the design industry over the past 26 years and although the exhibition will cease in its current format, we will be working with the design industry on how we can reimagine designEX over the coming months,” commented Norgaard.

From an architect's perspective, design EX appears to work when coupled with RAIA annual conference. In 2014 the RAIA Conference was in Perth, design EX in Sydney, I attended both and found design EX largely a waste of time, as it provided interior design/soft furnishing themes only, which we covered in 1 hour. However thanks for the introduction to Uber.
