Australis’s biggest skyscraper has received the green light for construction.

The City of Gold Coast has approved the One Park Lane project being developed by IT Structures.

Set to begin construction in 2026, the project comprises two neighboring towers.

The first is a 101-storey residential tower.

Set to reach almost 400 meters in height, this will overtake the 323m Q1 Tower (also on the Gold Coast) as Australia’s tallest building.

It will feature 197 residential apartments.

The second is a 60-storey office tower that will contain more than 11,600 square meters of space.

Project features include:

  • A glazed skybridge that will link both towers on the twenty-second floor. This will offer landscaped areas, hospitality and 360-degree views of the city.
  • An elevated, splayed podium from which the towers will rise. This will be supported by root-like columns which are inspired by the Moreton Bay fig tree.
  • A landscaped forecourt beneath the podium. This will deliver public amenity and will link the ground-floor entry atriums of both buildings.
  • A facade which is harmonious in colour and will feature high performance glazing in a dark shade of grey.
  • Transparent glass that will wrap around the communal areas of the residential tower and the skybridge. This will punctuate the façade and create separation between public and private spaces.

The initial design concept was prepared by BKK Architects in 2022.

In 2025, this was further developed by Cottee Parker for a development application.

Other project team members include Payton Group, Urbis, Van Der Meer, ADP and T.C.L.
