Unlicensed builders could face jail time for repeat offences in Queensland, the industry regulator warns.

Court’s decision last week to place an injunction on an unlicensed builder that means he’ll be jailed if he’s caught again.

It’s the first time the regulator has sought an injunction and QBCC commissioner Kellie Lowe is prepared to take action against other unlicensed builders.

“The commission is determined to maintain the livelihoods of licensed contractors who do the right thing, and the peace of mind of home owners contracting with the industry,” she said in a statement.
