We have all probably heard about LEED buildings, but do you know how projects go about getting certification or which aeas are leading the LEED charge? Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building certification program that addresses everything from sustainable site development to indoor environmental quality, focusing on building practices that support human and environmental health. LEED certified buildings exist in more than 150 countries and territories and 6 continents, and to date, there are more then 70,000 certified LEED buildings.

    Nice infographics. One problem, I guess, when comparing the LEED development between different states or regions is that there are several green building systems. So maybe on region is low in LEED but high in something else (for example Sweden Green Building Council, SGBC, in Sweden)
