Five Irish nationals who allegedly scammed Perth homeowners for roof renovation work that wasn't completed have been charged and detained awaiting deportation.

The charges come after WA Police last month detained 26 Irish men, women and children before deportation after a string of door-to-door scams that mainly targeted elderly people.

On Wednesday, they said a 42-year-old man had been charged with two counts each of gain benefit by fraud and stealing, and one count of unlawful possession.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with three counts each of stealing, trespass, criminal damage and two counts each of gain benefit by fraud and attempted gain benefit by fraud, and one count of unlawful possession.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with two counts each of gain benefit by fraud and stealing, one count each of criminal damage and unlawful possession.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with one count each of gain benefit by fraud, unlawful possession and criminal damage.

They are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on February 12.

A 33-year-old man who has been charged with one count of unlawful possession is due to appear in the same court on February 11.

Police said they continue to investigate the alleged scams.
