Three property industry influencers have signed on as Platinum Corporate Partners of Livable Housing Australia (LHA).

The Australian Institute of Architects, Property Council of Australia and Master Builders Australia have thrown their weight behind LHA, reinforcing their commitment to the Livable Housing Design Guidelines and the national livability certification program championed by LHA.

Established in 2011, LHA is working with industry, the consumer sector and governments to ensure new Australian homes are designed and built to be safer, more comfortable and easier to access.

“A livable home is simply good design. We are proud to champion Livable Housing Australia to ensure our industry designs and builds homes that meet the needs of more Australians,” says Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute of Architects, David Parken.

“Livable, versatile and adaptable housing should be the standard for new Australian homes and industry-led action is the best way to achieve that goal. The Property Council is proud to continue supporting a proactive approach to providing genuine housing choice,” says Glenn Byres, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Property Council of Australia.

“Master Builders Australia has been working with Livable Housing Australia over the last four years to encourage voluntary industry acceptance of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines. Our corporate partnership is the next natural step in our commitment to ‘user friendly’ and ‘lifecycle sensitive’ homes,” says MBA’s Chief Executive Officer, Wilhelm Harnisch.

“Livable Housing Australia is driving a transformation in the way we design and deliver the Australian dream home. We are thrilled with the solidarity of support for Livable Housing Australia demonstrated by these three industry bodies,” says Amelia Starr, LHA’s Executive Director.

“This commitment reinforces the industry’s leadership and determination to design and deliver homes that meet the needs of Australians today, tomorrow and well into the future,” Ms Starr concludes.
