A Queensland builder who was allegedly operating without a licence has been slapped with a Supreme Court injunction by the state's Building and Construction Commission.

Bryan John Byrne, who operated under the business name Action Painting Contractors, has now been barred from carrying out or undertaking to carry out any work, and could face a jail sentence if he contravenes the order.

“Having accumulated more than $27,000 in fines, it was clear that another fine would not be a deterrent to this repeat offender,” QBCC Interim Commissioner Kellie Lowe said.
